The Miss Kentucky Organization is currently accepting volunteers to
serve as contestant hostesses for this year's pageant. We are seeking warm, caring, gracious and welcoming ladies, ages 28
and older, who are willing to volunteer their time and energy from July 11 - 17 as a hostess during state pageant week.
Hostesses are required to reside with the contestants, transport them
to various appearances throughout Lexington during the week and assist backstage during the pageant. In return the hostesses
gain the wonderful opportunity to serve as a mentor and friend to the young ladies who are competing for the title of Miss
Kentucky.
We ask that hostesses not be closely related to any current Miss or
Teen competitor in the Miss Kentucky or Miss Kentucky's Outstanding Teen system and also not working as a pageant coach for
any contestant currently competing for the title. It is very important that a hostess be able to assist each contestant equally
and without bias.
All who are interested in this opportunity or would like additional
information please contact Paula Elder via email at jesscleaners@insightbb.com or by phone at (859) 806-7550.

Dreaming of a Dress Event!!!
Sunday, May 3rd at 6:30 in the evening.
Miss Belle of the Bluegrass Outstanding Teen, Shelby Gregory, is coordinating this exciting program
with assistance from
This program is in
the 3rd year and continues to evolve and grow...what started out as simple donation to help a few girls has now turned into
a wonderful enrichment and development program for inner city young ladies.
Basically it works like this:
A young lady must take self improvement classes like art
education, self improvment, etiquette etc....then after completing the required courses she then is qualified to recieve
a gown for her junior or senior prom. The Lexington Fayette Urban County Government partners with us to make this Dreaming
of a Dress Program a reality for these young ladies. This year there were only 20 spots available for the scholarship....next
year they are hoping to fill many more. There were over 150 girls applying for this program this year, so with continued
help they can assist them in the future.
The scholarship includes
gowns, shoes, and even hair and cosmetics for a wonderful evening of fashion, self improvment and the feeling of satisfaction! Following
selection of their gowns there is a fashion show where the girls show off their gowns for everyone.
What can you do to help?
*Donate a gown you no longer can use
*Ask others for donations
*Set up a Dreaming
of a Dress Donation Station in your area
*Join us to help these
girls celebrate their accomplishment and select their Dream Gown
The coordinators are in need of 20 title holders to be present to assist the
girls with their evening. If you are interested please call (859) 278-3765 to confirm and community
service hours wil be given. So, if you like to make a difference and enjoy being a part of something very special.

Miss America Local Pageants Insurance Coverage
Miss America local pageant organizations should have insurance coverage in place before
the date of their local pageant competition. For years now the K&K Ins. Group has provided local pageants affiliated
with the Miss America Organization the insurance coverage necessary for the local events. Local pageant organizations are
to contact the association's agent--John Gallaher at 573-581-8330.
Please notice the attachment and the insurance
company's website address,
There is a link at the bottom of the opening page of the website “Click
here to order a pageant certificate of insurance”
Ideally this should be done very early in
the pageant year. A document showing that you have insurance coverage from accident and liability is often times required
by venues before they will approve use of their facility.
