Clark Janell Davis, Miss Kentucky 2015

On July 4, 2015, 17 year-old Clark Davis, Miss Horse Capital of the World, was crowned Miss Kentucky 2015.  She is the daughter of Ginger  and Johnathan Davis of Lexington.  Clark is a sophomore at the University of Kentucky where she is majoring in Vocal Performance with a minor in Political Science and eventually hopes to earn a law degree.
Clark's platform issue focuses on raising awareness about dyslexia, a condition which she was diagnosed with in the 3rd grade.  As a result of this condition Clark was placed in special education classes until the 6th grade.  However, with the help of her teachers and family she was able to overcome this diagnosis and achieve academic excellence which included graduating high school a year early and earning a full scholarship to attend the University of Kentucky .  She received the 2nd runner-up award for the Heather French Henry Quality of Life award due to the outstanding work she has done with her platform.  Clark also received a preliminary talent award for her a cappella vocal performance of the George Gershwin class "Summertime" from Porgy and Bess.
As Miss Kentucky, Clark serves as the spokesperson for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture's "Kentucky Proud" program which encourages consumers of all ages to purchase products produced in Kentucky and to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.  She delivers this message to all age groups in schools throughout the commonwealth.
Some other interesting facts about Clark include that her favorite food is her momma's broccoli casserole and her favorite place to visit is New York City.  She can't live without her brother, Jackson, and her secret wish is to be able to time-travel.  Something out of character that she would like to try would be to take fencing lessons.
