On July 14, 2012, 19 year-old Jessica Casebolt, Miss Goldenrod, was crowned Miss
Kentucky 2012. She is the daughter of Samuel & Carol Casebolt of Pikeville. Jessica is
a sophomore at Georgetown College where she is majoring in political science. She plans to eventually attend law school
and become an attorney.
Jessica's platform issue is Heart Health Awareness and she sang an updated version of the
Carpenters' hit "Superstar" for her talent presentation.
As Miss Kentucky, Jessica serves as the spokesperson for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture's
"Kentucky Proud" program which encourages consumers of all ages to purchase products produced in Kentucky. She delivers this message
to all age groups in schools throughout the commonwealth.
Some other interesting facts about Jessica include that she is teaching herself to play the guitar
and is the host of her own radio show. Jessica also plans to study at Oxford in the future.
